A stellar field of professional Speedway Motorcycle and Quad / ATV ice Racers will travel to the Bi-Lo Center December 27 for the Southeast's premier event. If that's not enough, experience wheel to wheel action as Legend Cars battle on the ice. These daring racers and their volatile race machines will be competing in the International Speedway on Ice Championships, presented by Hardee's on Sunday afternoon. The action begins at 3pm as racers from throughout Canada, USA, and Europe, take to the Bi-Lo Center ice oval to battle for prestigious titles, cash and awards.

This no holds barred motorsports competition features arena oval track racing's thoroughbreds - I.C.E. Nitro Speedway Motorcycles and I.C.E. Unlimited Outlaw Speedway Quads. In the 2 wheel motorcycle division, the machines resemble mountain bicycles with big engines. Speedway Bikes are very lightweight, super quick machines, designed and built specifically for short oval racing. They incorporate hand made, full race 500cc 4-valve, 4 stroke single cylinder engines that burn nitro methane fuel. The power to weight ratio is so strong, these 'crotch rockets' are able to achieve 0 to 60 MPH in under 3 seconds! Speedway Bikes are most famous for the rule that states NO BRAKES ALLOWED!! It takes a brave, very experienced and confident sole to throw his leg over one of these exotic machines to compete on ice in an extremely tight hockey arena.

The Unlimited Quads feature highly modified 4 wheel ATV's. There are no rules governing engines in this wide open class. Therefore you will see competing in the same race, a 1200cc Harley-Davidson V-Twin, a four cylinder 1000cc Kawasaki, 350cc Yamahas, full race Honda, Suzuki, and who knows what else! It has been said that racing is not a contact sport. Whoever said that obviously had not seen an I.C.E. Speedway Quad race! The race cars you sit ON, NOT IN!! That must be seen to be believed!

Some twenty races will be contested in less than 3 hours to crown champions in both divisions.
