Thanks for this information. No need to apologise for lack of attention. I
find this an amazing decision to seed a home country rider to a meeting
that is the final qualifier for the most prestigious championship in our
sport. Surely a meeting of this importance you should have to qualify for?
If I was in Jablonski's position I would be extremely jarred off.
The only scenario I can think of is that perhaps no country wanted to stage
this meeting, and it was given to Germany on the proviso that one of their
own riders was in it. What else could it be?
As I said earlier an AMAZING circumstance.

No - it's a rule recently introduced by the CCP either this year or last
year (can't remember exactly). Whilst the host nation of a World
Championship Final has always been guaranteed a rider, this principle has
been extended to all rounds of the various World Championships.
I think it's less of a problem when there are a lot of qualifying places on
offer, but it's a bit unfair when only 5 riders qualify from a round.

Subject: TV Monitors for GP Referees!

>> ... a video reviewing sysem (TV Monitor) will be installed in the
Referee's box for all Speedway Grand Prix Events" - informed the FIM/CCP
Secretary, Carlo De Donato, in his Press Release of July 10th.
It seems that very controversial refereeing of the GP Referees, Mr. Istvan
Darago and Mr. Wolfgang Gklas, caused so sudden FIM decision in the middle
of the season!...

I read with interest the comments made by Steve Ruskin and agree we should be
moving forward. However if Swedish teams are not run as a business can we assume
that the spectators are admitted free and that the riders do not get paid.

Subject: BUG FIX #2: Speedway Meeting Version 4.9
Date: Tue, 11 Jul 2000 20:48:13 +0100
All,
The bug fix recently issued for Speedway Meeting Version 4.9 also seemed to
have some problems. Hopefully I really have fixed the problem this time,
and the distribution package has again been updated. You can download this
from:
http://www.meynell.com/speedway-meeting/SpwyMtg49.zip
Alternatively, you can just download the settings file from:
http://www.meynell.com/speedway-meeting/Speedway.reg
You can update the settings by double-clicking on the new file. A dialog
box should then appear asking you to confirm the update.
Sorry once again for any inconvenience.
