An entertaining meeting with the riders looking proud to represent their
country. Mark Steel in particular caught the eye, with some good rides
whilst Simon Stead and Oliver Allen also weighed in with respectable
performances which helped England take a 2-0 lead. Stead's third to first=
burst in heat 10 showed that he has the talent perhaps to go a long way in
this game, he left Collyer and Lemon stunned with his move. Watson used his
track knowledge to good effect in heat 5 when he picked off the opponents,
but he had to give second best to Stead in heat 15.
Lemon, for all his experience was a shade disappointing, but Harrison got
better as meeting progressed.
