Billy Janniro, coming off a stellar night of racing last week with a scratch main event win, followed up this week with double main event wins Friday night at Fast Friday’s Motorcycle Speedway in Auburn at the Gold Country Fairgrounds.

With his scratch main event win this week current AMA National Speedway champion Janniro has notched four scratch main event wins so far this season which included two missed nights of racing. Janniro was out of the action for one week because of a rain out and one week he was away racing in Europe.

Riding like he owned the place, Janniro was undefeated in the scratch program Friday night, with victories in his heat, semi-final and main event races. Joining him in the nights finale was Bart Bast, Bryan Yarrow and up from Southern California Austin Novratil. Though the lane draw doesn’t seem to matter to Janniro who wins from any line, this week drew lane two. Out of the gate Janniro beat everyone to the inside on turn one. Yarrow gave chase and Bast fell in behind them challenging both. Yarrow dogged the champ but was not able to get around Janniro. In his trademark tradition Janniro pulled a wheelie across the finish line, then proceeded to thrill the crowd with a fast wheelie filled cool down lap with the checkered flag. Yarrow was second, Bast third and Novratil was fourth.

In the handicap main event, Janniro again prevailed despite a deep 60 yard handicap. The race was restarted after Bob Hicks got a little to close and bumped Daniel Faria’s rear tire on the fourth lap sending both riders sliding across the track off their bikes. Janniro improved his position on the restart and though Auburn’s Louie Mersaroli did a good job blocking Janniro on the inside, Janniro found a way around him to take the victory. Mersaroli was second, and Luke Becker was third.

Dalton Leedy also doubled up with wins in the Division II main event and the Trophy Dash. Leedy, who was getting lots of rides Friday night, also rode in the Division I handicap program. Leedy won his heat race to get into the main event and outdistanced second place finisher Michael Achilles for the win. Shawn Eldredge was third. In the Trophy Dash Leedy beat Jamison Dilkey, and Shawn Eldredge to the finish line, and held two trophies at the end of the night. Jeremy Estes won the Division III main event for the second week in a row and will be moving back to the 30 yard line next week. Look to see Estes in division II soon if he keeps this up. Cameron “The Captain” Beck was second and Eddie Luke took third.

For the second time this year Sebastian Palmese made the trip up north to the Fast Friday’s. Making the trip worth it, Palmese was victorious in the Youth 250 A Main Event. Racing against Youth 250 national champion Colton Hicks off the same back yardage, Palmese got the better of Hicks on this night. “My bike was set up perfectly, my clutch was dialed in, the track was a little tacky but turned out to be great in the main,” Palmese said. “Sometimes Colton (Hicks) wins sometimes I win, it can go either way.” Hicks finished second, and Cameron Krezman was third. Sammy Tetrault was first in the Youth 250 B main event. Fast Fridays crowd favorite Charlie Trana won the Youth 150 A main event, his third of the season winning in week one and two. Auburn’s Colton Nelson topped the Youth 150 B main event, his second win of the season. Dylan Sudtell came out ahead in the Run What U Brung program.

Fast Fridays paid special tribute to and thanked their longtime supporter and sponsor Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram by hosting employee night for the dealership. Employees and sales staff munched on pizza and sipped beverages catching the racing action from a special seating area on turn three Friday night. “I think this has been a really successful partnership, it’s a really family friendly event in our hometown, we’re lucky,” said David Harrison, Auburn Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram General Sales Manager.
