Industry RacingThe Grand Industry Hills Expo Center Jr Kurtz Memorial Cup Results from Industry Racing and are Continued Below... Industry Racing, CA, USA - August 15 Just four days after suffering a heart-breaking defeat at the National Round, Austin Novratil returned to Industry Racing and put together a flawless performance and won the Jr. Kurtz Memorial Cup. The former Under 21 National Champion entered the main event undefeated which earned him first choice of starting position. He raised some eyebrows when he chose gate four. Aaron Fox picked gate one, “Mad” Max Ruml selected gate two, which left Jimmy “Little Animal” Fishback with gate three. Novratil proved his selection was a wise one by sweeping around the outside and into the lead through turns one and two. Fox used gate one to get himself into second and set out after the leader. Ruml had similar designs despite being in third and used the ample cushion to get himself around Fox for second. Ruml had little hope of catching Novratil as he had staked himself to an insurmountable lead. Novratil was first to the checkered flag, Ruml was second, Fox finished third, and Fishback was fourth. Ruml kicked off the evening with a win over Tim Gomez. Fishback defeated Dave Hancock in event two. Novratil began his evening with victory ahead of Fox to finish round one. Ruml defeated Rudy Laurer to begin round two. Novratil beat Fishback for his second straight win. Fox scored a win over Gomez to end the second round. The third round opened with Fishback beating Gomez for his second victory. Fox made it two wins in a row after beating Bobby “Boogaloo” Schwartz. Novratil defeated Ruml in the final heat to remain unbeaten. Novratil made it four consecutive wins in the first semi with Fishback moving with him to the main event. Fox used the outside to win the second semi while Ruml’s second put him in the main as well. Gomez was victorious in the Scratch Consolation with Schwartz getting second, Hancock finishing third, and Laurer getting credit for fourth. Kevin Fiore led all five laps en route to victory in the Support Main Event. Brad Moreau was second, Mike Miller finished third, David Lynch was fourth, Ron Davis finished fifth, and Steve Brown was sixth. “Gentleman” Jake Isaac put together four smooth laps and won the Youth 250 Main Event. Slater Lightcap finished second, “Lightning” Luke Whitcomb was third, and Andrew Russell finished fourth. Owen Williams led from start to finish and claimed victory in the Mini 150 Main Event. Jose Navarrete finished second and Levi Leutz was third.
