Season Opener

Believe it or not, we actually got the first three weeks of racing in before the rain got us (May 16,23,30). The last two weeks (June 6, 13) have been rained out: as of right now (June 19), the track is under water. Don't know how long it will take to dry out, but I'll let you know as soon as I get word.

The talent level has been steadily improving. This year we have eight regular riders. The third week was our best program: Biff and Alex came down from Maryland. The top three guys transfered directly to the main event. The remaining four guys ran a last chance qualifier for the fourth slot. It really made for some exciting racing. Biff and I got together in the Main and unfortunately I broke some ribs. Good thing I've had a couple of weeks off to heal. Should be back to normal in the near future. Everyone got four rides plus two practices for a total of six rides. As usual, a good time was had by all and there was one hell of a tail gate party afterwards.

The promoter would like to do a big speedway night during the double header fair race (two nights back to back). Pass the word around and have anyone interested contact me or Herschel Benkert. Ccheck the Lawrenceburg page for the schedule.
