1981 and ’82 World Champ Bruce Penhall checks in with 1996 World Champ Billy Hamill at the Hagon Shocks pit. With 6 sidecar rigs and only 5 passengers, it was musical chairs night. Missy Driggers drew the ride with Joe Jones that won the main event. Jimmy Olsen was off with a newborn son. It was Salute to NHRA Hall of Fame Inductee Bruce Penhall Night at the Grand Arena. The Champ was on hand to shake hands, share good vibes with the announcer, and sign autographs. Sidecar driver Bob Brayton gets horizontal near his rare Godden V2 Sidecar before suit-up time. Methanol, baby. This is what Speedway is all about!

#104 Kurtis Hamill flies into turn three on Max Ruml's 250cc bike while #98 Brock Nicol tires to keep up on his 200cc machine. There's nothing like a 5-rider-go to kick off the Big Boys' first heat. #176 Carl Gazafy keeps it close to the pipe, a tactic that won him the Support Main Event.

#126 Rocco Scopellite lead #25 a lap or two, but Jimmy Fishback III bumped his way through the inside to win the heat. The First Div. Last Chance ride, from the pole: #9 Faria; #46 Aaron Fox; #40 Tommy Hedden; #66 Jason Ramirez.  Faria advanced to the Main Event. #43 Charlie "The Edge" Venegas tore up the Grand Arena track in the Main, adding to his Track Championship creds.

Former National Champion Charlie "The Edge" Venegas completed a perfect night by winning the main event at Industry Speedway.

Venegas had first gate choice in the main event and wisely selected gate one. The start was delayed twice after "Flyin" Mike Faria and Jimmy "Little Animal" Fishback each took turns getting into the tapes and both were banished to the penalty line. When the tapes went up Venegas exploded into the lead. Bobby "Boogaloo" Schwartz, who started next to Venegas, led the charge after the leader. Venegas held a comfortable lead the entire race and cruised to the victory. Schwartz finished second, Dukie Ermolenko was third, Fishback finished fourth, and Faria was fifth.

John "Mongoose" Marquez kicked off the heats with a win over Shawn "Mad Dog" McConnell. Faria beat Schwartz in the second heat. Venegas defeated Jason Ramirez in the third heat. Fishback ended round one with a win over Ermolenko.

Northern California's Tommy Hedden beat Ramirez to open round two. Marquez made the best star in event 10, but Ermolenko used the outside to take the lead and the win. Venegas beat Schwartz for his second straight win. Michael Raines trapped from the outside and held off Fishback to end the second round with a win.

Aaron Fox started the final round with a win over McConnell. Raines beat Faria for his second win in a row. Venegas defeated Ermolenko for his third consecutive win. Schwartz ended the heats with a victory over Fishback.

Schwartz and Ermolenko finished one-two in the first semi to book their places in the main event. Venegas remained unbeaten by winning the second semi with Fishback following him into the main. Faria won the Last Chance Race to fill the final spot in the main.

Chris Jones led the first two laps of the Support Main Event before Carl Gazafy went by for the lead. Gazafy never looked back from there and went on to victory. Jones finished second, Joe Donaldson was third, and Jake Myers was credited with fourth.

Chris Casey travelled down from Auburn to win the Support B Main Event for the second consecutive week. Craig Sprecher finished second, Kip McClain was third, and Chanse Vaccaro, who travelled with Casey, finished fourth.

Kurtis Hamill beat his Hagon Shocks teammate Broc Nicol to win the Youth 250cc Main Event.

Gino Scopellite led the Youth 200cc First Division Main Event for a lap before Sebastian Palmese went by as they entered turn one the second time. Scopellite fought back to take the lead on the back straight. Nicol came from the back to pass both riders and take over the lead at the end of the second lap. Nicol raced away from the victory from there. Scopellite finished second, Palmese was third, and Maverick Molloy finished fourth.

Braydan Galvin led all four laps of the Youth 200cc Second Division Main Event en route to his first main event victory since coming back after several years away from speedway. Shea Bendykowski was second, Chase Sanborn finished third, and Daniel Casey was fourth.

Dominic Laney led from start to finish and claimed victory in the Pee Wee Main Event. Alyssa Smith finished second, Jake Isaac was third, Mathew Casey finished fourth, and Luke Whitcomb was fifth.

The Sidecar Main Event was a wild affair that required two restarts to complete. On the third attempt Joe Jones and Missy Driggers dominated for the win. Scott Driggers and Casey Driggers finished second, Dylan Beard/ and David Pane were third, and Dan Jones and Brandi McElroy were credited with fourth.

Industry Speedway only has two events left on its 2011 calendar. The next event is Harley Night which will include street-legal Harley Races.
