It was Boogaloo Bobby Schwartz Night at IMS - Unloading at the last minute is nothing more than a drill for Bobby and his right-hand-man, Kenny Hansen. On hand to help Bobby celebrate was Speedway Star #2 Josh Larsen, one of our Walking Wounded Warriors. The Pee Wees were lead by either #14 Sara Cords or #275 Jimmy Fishback IV during the night. This is the Final, and "Quatro" is gone!

How fast are these First Division guys?
Ermo, Blair, Faria and Schwartz zip under the rising tapes during the early races.
Sidecar Main: #5150 Dylan Bear/Crystal Laurie get a wheel up and rode hard, but it was No.1 and Defending National Sidecar Champs Joe Jones and Jimmy Olsen once again taking the checkered flag. First Division Last Chance: Ermo, Castro, Harmie, and Bobby - could have been the main, anywhere!

Scratch Main Event: Jimmie Mike Buck Shawn and Eddie. #25 Jimmie Fishback III got a great start. Shawn made it interesting, but score another win for the 2010 Defending Western States Champ!

2011 Bobby Schwartz Tribute Night - San Bernardino, CA, USA - September 16

Jimmy "Little Animal" Fishback won on Bobby Schwartz Tribute Night for the third consecutive time and remained the only victor in the event's history at Inland Motorcycle Speedway in San Bernardino.

Fishback entered the main event with the first choice of starting position and he selected gate one. His decision paid off with a great start and the lead into turn one. Shawn "Mad Dog" McConnell got a great drive on the back straight and he tried to charge underneath for the lead. Fishback was having none of that and he pulled his bike down to the pole in turn three but it created contact with McConnell. Both riders remained upright and their positions didn't change. It would prove to be the only chance that McConnell would have as Fishback was first to the checkered flag and his third straight victory on Bobby Schwartz Tribute Night. McConnell was second, "Fast" Eddie Castro finished third, "Flyin" Mike Faria was fourth, and "Battling" Buck Blair finished fifth.

Shaun Harmatiuk kicked off the heats with a win over Blair. Castro beat Josh Abbott in the second heat. Dukie Ermolenko ended the first round by handing Fishback his only defeat of the evening.

Ermolenko started the second round by beating Castro for his second straight win. Fishback defeated Faria for his first victory. Harmatiuk made it two wins in a row by holding off McConnell to end round two.

Ermolenko began the final round of heats with a win over Faria to remain perfect. Schwartz led event 20 for a lap before Castro went around him. Schwartz fought back to regain the lead at the end of lap three and held on for the win. Harmatiuk was hounded by Fishback and finally succumbed to the pressure on the final lap with Fishback getting his second straight win to finish the heats.

Fishback made it three straight wins in the first semi and was followed into the main event by McConnell. Faria and Blair finished one-two in the second semi to end Ermolenko's unbeaten run and also transfer to the main event. Castro went around the outside of Harmatiuk on the third lap of the Last Chance to take the lead, the win, and the final spot in the main-event field.

C.J. Sanborn led the Second Division Main Event until Mike Wiley went around the outside of him to take over the lead. Wiley was well on his way to victory when Sanborn and Mitch Pierson went down and brought out the red flag. Wiley was awarded the win, Troy McConnell was second, Mitch Pierson was credited with third, and Sanborn was relegated to fourth.

Steve "Beach Ball" Brown quickly grabbed the lead and held off Kip McClain and Kevin Fife to win the Third Division Main Event. Tom Bryant finished fourth, Dan Eddy was fifth, Kris Harlow finished sixth, and Rick Huspek was seventh.

Broc Nicol started on the 30 yard line and made an incredible outside pass of all six of his competitors to take the lead in the Youth Main Event on the first lap. Nicol ran away from there to collect an impressive victory. Sebastian Palmese finished second, Braydan Galvin was third, Dalton Leedy finished fourth, Michael Wells was fifth, Shea Bendykowski finished sixth, and Chase Sanborn was seventh.

Jimmy Fishback IV and Sara Cords had an excellent race-long battle in the Pee Wee Main Event with Fishback narrowly getting the win. Luke Whitcomb finished third and Mackynley Bendykowski was fourth.

National Champions Joe Jones and Jimmy Olsen left little doubt as to why they hold that crown with a runaway victory in the Sidecar Main Event. California State Champions Dylan Beard and Crystal Laurie finished second, Rod Requejo and Gene Stone were third, Kevin Brown and Matt Davis finished fourth, and Scott Driggers and Casey Driggers were fifth.

There will be no racing at IMS this Friday. Speedway returns with the Kelly Moran Memorial on Friday, September 30.
