Industry Racing, CA, USA - August 21

California State Champion Billy "The Kid" Janniro warmed up for his title defense by winning a great Scratch Main Event at Industry Racing.

Billy "The Bullet" Hamill, who has won the main event every evening that he appeared at Industry Racing this season, had first gate choice and picked the pole. Janniro had second gate choice and selected gate two. Tyson Burmeister then chose gate four which left Charlie "The Edge" Venegas with gate three.

Hamill held a slight advantage along the inside line as the field entered turn one but Janniro immediately went to the deep outside cushion and went around the former world champion on the back straight. He remained on the outside through turns three and four and his rear tire even bounced of the wall after exiting turn four. Hamill chased after his former Coventry Bees teammate but lost significant ground on the third lap when he lifted exiting turn two. Janniro took the white flag with a seemingly comfortable lead but Hamill gained ground in wholesale fashion and closed on the leader as they entered the final corner. Janniro wasn't going to let the lead slip away, though, and was first to the checkered flag. Hamill had to settle for second, Venegas finished third, and Burmeister was fourth.

Hamill kicked off the evening with a win over Aaron Fox. Burmeister defeated Venegas in event two. Janniro beat "Battling" Buck Blair to end round one.

Hamill started round two by passing Venegas to get his second win in a row. Janniro defeated Fox for his second straight win. Burmeister finished the second round with a win ahead of Gino Manzares.

Burmeister and Fox began the third round of heats with a side-by-side battle before Burmeister surged ahead and remained perfect. Manzares and Venegas battled for two laps before the former Under 21 National Champion took the win. A much-anticipated showdown between Hamill and Janniro evaporated when the latter was left behind at the tapes which allowed Hamill to cruise to an easy victory and remain perfect.

Hamill won the first semi with Venegas following him into the main event. MXRC Racing teammates Janniro and Burmeister finished one-two and transferred to the main event as well.

Chris Jones defeated Harold Hartke to win a Second Division Main Event that had to be restarted twice. The reason for the final restart is what will be burned into everyone's memories for a long time. Danny Baker fell on the front straight and left Kevin Fife with nowhere to go. Baker's bike was lying on angle which launched Fife into the air and when he let go of the handlebars he somersaulted so high that his feet tore down the raised starting tapes. Fife landed hard and up against the wall to complete one of the wildest crashes ever seen on a speedway track. He was down for several minutes but walked away very sore but without any broken bones.

Pam "Pinky" Bennett led from start to finish and captured the Third Division Main Event. Wade Whitcomb finished second, Steve "Beach Ball" Brown was third, Ricky Carlisle finished fourth, and Dave Troutt was fifth.

Kurtis Hamill led the Junior 250 Main Event through the first corner before Junior National Champion Broc Nicol went around the outside for the lead. Nicol never looked back and went on to victory. Hamill held on to second, Dalton Leedy was third, and Hayley Perrault finished fourth.

Gino Scopellite was in front of the Mini 150 First Division Main Event for three laps, but Sebastian Palmese slipped by him on the fourth lap to take the lead and the win. Scopellite settled for second and Courtney Crone finished third.

Sam Hagon led the Mini 150 Second Division Main Event before Jake Isaac passed him on the second lap. Isaac's turn at the front was short-lived because Slater Lightcap took over on the next lap. Lightcap maintained his grip on the lead and was first across the finish line. Tristan Britt was second, Isaac finished third, Hagon was fourth, Luke Whitcomb finished fifth, and Travis Hamilton was sixth.

Andrew Russell won the Industry Racing's final Pee Wee Main Event of the season. Jake Troutt finished second, Nicholas Mejia was third, Justin Staggs finished fourth, Tristan Guerrero was fifth, Jason Palmese Jr. finished sixth, and Conner Salazar was credited with seventh.
