Defending California State Champion Dillon “Pickle” Ruml took home top honors on Maely Construction Night at Industry Racing.

“Mad” Max Ruml had first choice of starting position because he was the top scorer after the four rounds of heat races. He chose gate four. Dillon Ruml went to the opposite side of the grid and took gate one. Russell Green surprised some people by picking gate three. This left Aaron Fox with gate two.

Dillon Ruml was first into turn one and went to the outside immediately. Russell Green slipped up the inside and the two racers were handlebar-to-handlebar entering turn three. The two remained that way through the end of lap one. Neither competitor was able to gain an advantage on the next lap as their side-by-side battle continued into the third lap. Dillon Ruml surged ahead as they entered turn three and secured the lead. He led the final lap to claim the victory. Max Ruml passed Green for second and Fox finished in fourth.

Four rounds of heats began with scratch racing in the first round and the earned-handicap “Olympique” format in the subsequent three rounds. The top four competitors would go straight to the Scratch Main and the next four would transfer to the Scratch Consolation.

Max Ruml, powered by three straight heat wins, scored a total of ten points in his heats. Dillon Ruml scored eight points, including two heat wins, to tally eight points. Green matched Dillon Ruml’s eight points, including a heat win. Despite not having a heat victory, Fox’s six points and a tie-breaker put him in the main event.

Bobby “Boogaloo” Schwartz earned the loudest cheers of the night when he put together a solid four laps to win the Scratch Consolation. Tim Gomez finished second, Sebastian Palmese was third, and Jake Isaac finished fourth.

Mike Miller won both of his heats and completed his perfect night with a victory in the Second Division Main Event. Eloy Medellin finished second, Bruce Marteney was third, and Rudy Laurer finished fourth.

Kevin Fiore completely dominated his competition with victories in his two heats and a runaway victory in the Third Division Main Event. Brent Smith was second, Dennis Osmer finished third, and Jake Myers was fourth.

Former Mini 150 National Champion Slater Lightcap led every lap throughout the evening and won the Junior 250 Main Event. “Lightning” Luke Whitcomb was second and Andrew Russell finished third.

Ryder Schultz, in his first speedway meeting, took the early lead in the Mini 150 Main Event. Levi “The Cowboy” Leutz went to the front on the second lap. Owen Williams, who started alongside Leutz on the 20 yard line, started applying the pressure on lap three. Williams slipped past the leader as they entered turn one the fourth time. Williams never looked back from there and went on to victory. Leutz held on to second, Jose “Nitro” Navarrete was third, Ken Matsudaira finished fourth, Nick Dunn was fifth, and Schultz finished sixth.

National Champions Joe Jones and Josh Flammia passed Kevin Kale and Jeremy Bell on the third lap and went home victorious from Industry Racing’s first Sidecar Main Event of the season. Kevin Kale and Bell had to settle for second, Ace Kale and Mike North were third, and Dillon Osborne and Ashley Gibbons were credited with fourth.
