To maintain the riders information pages, on our SpeedwayBikes.Com web site, the promoters at Auburn and Cal Expo have helped out by letting me in the pits before and during the races. Its very encouraging to see the number of new riders that appear every week. Although new names may not necessarily appear in the results, they are there, in fact its averaging out at half a dozen new riders per week. Most are brand new, out for their first Speedway race, others have raced elsewhere. Examples of the latter category include Shane McAfee from Idaho, Fraser Smith from Scotland and this week, Brendan Fennessey from Montana.

Next week Fast Fridays hosts the Civil War, Northern California verses Southern California. Up until 2 years ago the south used to win, but the last couple of years its been the north. Since Steve Lucero is not riding for the south and Mike Faria's move from south to north, there is little to suggest a change this year.
