May 2, 2007 - Industry Speedway
By: Ryan Evans

Mike Faria won all five of his races, including his second consecutive main event victory, en route to a perfect night at Industry Speedway.

Faria started on the pole with Charlie "The Edge" Venegas lined up next to him. The two riders entered turn one in tight formation but Faria exited turn two on the inside while Venegas sought traction on the outside. Faria held a slight lead throughout lap one, but Venegas was steadfast in his pursuit for his first main event victory of the season. With each successive lap Faria calmly rode the groove while Venegas's attempts to find enough traction were proving futile. At the checkered flag it was Faria taking the victory, Venegas a hard-fought second, Jimmy Fishback was third, and Eddie Castro finished fourth.

Fishback began the heats with his first win. Buck Blair trapped from the outside and held off Ricky Wells to win his opening ride. Venegas used the outside to take the lead away from Shaun Harmatiuk to get his first win. Gary Hicks defeated Castro in the next heat. Faria beat Bobby Schwartz, who was making his first Industry appearance of the season, to finish round one.

Round two began with Wells chasing Justin Boyle and using the outside to beat him to the finish line. Fishback made it two straight with a defeat of Blair. Castro used the cushion to pass Schwartz on lap two and get the victory. Faria beat Shawn McConnell for his second straight win. Venegas ran away with the last race of the second round.

Schwartz held off the valiant charges of Wells to begin the last round. Boyle won event 28 to propel himself into the semis. Venegas made it three straight wins by beating McConnell. Faria matched Venegas's perfect score with a win in race 30. Blair beat Castro for his second win in the final heat.

Fishback led the first semi into turn one with Blair and Wells behind him and Venegas stuck at the back. Fishback wisely rode mid-track on the first lap to successfully hold the lead. Fishback pulled away for the win, but the battle behind him was intense. On the third lap Blair and Wells were shoulder-to-shoulder entering turn one before Venegas showed his champion's heart with a dazzling three-wide pass around both of them on the backstraight that electrified the crowd. The move garnered him second and the transfer to the main.

Faria and Schwartz ran one-two on the inside line in the second semi, but Castro used the outside to get alongside Schwartz in a battle for second. They ran side-by-side behind Faria and it was Castro getting just enough traction to follow Faria into the main.

The action continued in the Consolation as Wells and Schwartz battled the entire way with Blair close behind. Wells used the outside and scored a close victory over Schwartz.

Turn one of the Second Division Main Event found Vince Giamformaggio on the ground, but no red flag. Rudy Laurer emerged from turn two with the lead and was never threatened on his way to victory. Philip Harmatiuk was second, Tim Cochren finished third, and Giamformaggio was credited with fourth.

Scott York led all four laps to win the Third Division Main Event. Krystal Cramer finished second, Fred Remington was third, Lance Remington finished fourth, Yoshi Sato was fifth, and Tori Hubbert finished sixth.

Jason Ramirez scored an impressive win over Joey Holt and Russell Green in the Youth First Division Main and Braydan Galvin held off hard-charging Brad Pappalardo to win the Youth Second Division Main.

Eddie Tafoya overcame a 50 yard handicap to win the Pee Wee Main. Elijah Harrison-Hicks was second, Emalee Pappalardo finished third, Bryson Galvin was fourth, and Alexis Harrison-Hicks finished fifth.
