"BSA Owners Club" British Bike Night
June 20, 2018 - Industry Racing
By Ryan Evans

Former Under 21 National Champion Austin “All Throttle” Novratil made it four different winners in four weeks with his victory in the Scratch Main Event BSA Owners Club Night at Industry Racing.

The first attempt to complete the Scratch Main saw an intense battle. Dillon Ruml, Jimmy Fishback, and Novratil battled three abreast throughout the first lap before Fishback went down in turn four. The red light came on and Fishback was excluded from the restart. Novratil made a great start on the second attempt and used the ample outside dirt to secure the lead on the back straight. Aaron Fox and Dillon Ruml gave chase but it was to no avail. Novratil cruised to the victory. Fox finished second and Ruml was third.

Fishback opened the evening with a win over Novratil. Fox defeated Northern California’s Chance Grove in event two. Ruml finished the first round by defeating Russell Green.

Novratil held off Fox to begin the second round. Ruml used the outside to pass Fishback and win the next heat. Tim Gomez beat Green to end round two.

Fishback beat Gomez to start round three. Fox claimed his second victory by beating Green. Novratil finished the heats by beating Ruml for his second straight win.

Ruml won the first semi and followed into the main event by Fox. Fishback and Novratil finished one-two in the second semi to also transfer to the main.

Green and Gomez and a great side-by-side battle during the first lap of the Scratch Consolation. Green’s inside line proved better and secured the lead and the victory on the second lap. Grove finished third and Bobby “Boogaloo” Schwartz finished fourth.

Long-time stalwarts Rudy Laurer and Eloy Medellin began the Second Division Main Event locked in an inside-outside tussle on the first lap. Laurer was hugging the inside with Medellin on the outside. Laurer surged ahead the second time they raced down the back straight. Medellin remained close the rest of the way but couldn’t force a mistake. Laurer was first to the checkered flag, Medellin settled for second, Hayley Perrault was third, Ron Davis finished fourth, and Bruce Marteney was fifth.

David Newsham led from start-to-finish and won the Third Division Main Event. Dennis Osmer finished second, Steve Brown was third, and Greg Willis finished fourth.

Slater Lightcap was victorious in the Junior 250 Main Event for the second consecutive week. Jake Isaac finished second, Greg Moore made the trip from Northern California to finish third, Andrew Russell was fourth, and Luke Whitcomb finished fifth.

Levi Leutz held off a hard-charging Travis Horn and won the Mini 150 Main Event. Owen Williams finished third, Justin Almon was fourth, and Jose Navarrete finished fifth.

Joe Jones and Tom Summers made the best start and led the Sidecar Main Event through lap one. Bryan Motis and Blake Cronkrite weren’t far behind and kept the heat on the leaders. Motis and Cronkrite saw their chance on lap three and slipped by on the inside. They never looked back from there and went on to victory. Jones and Summers had to settle for second, and Dillon Osborne and Ashley Gibbons were third.
