Fast Fridays, Auburn, California USA - July 13, 2007
By Gary Roberts

Sorry for the gap in Northern California results. I went for a wet visit to England to watch Cardiff and others. Cardiff was great. The rest was disappointing, in fact my plans fell apart before I even left the US, if I had but researched it. Poole, Arena Essex and Eastbourne did not accommodate overseas GP visitors on their regular evenings during GP week. Wolverhampton at least had a plan to run, but was rained out both weeks. The second week the weather was kind enough to wait till 5 minutes before the start before tipping down and forcing the event to be cancelled. This meant that the bar was open and I had the pleasure of slopping down a pint with fellow countrymen Kerr, Hamill and Correy.

Back to Auburn: A chunky looking track (more pleasant to the eye than a track under water) to start with, but it soon shaped up and provided some great racing. Ryan Fisher, who I have always foreseen as Hamill and Hancock’s successor, proved me right and won both main events. He even got past early leader Mike Faria in the scratch. Well done Ryan!!!
