Salute to Military
June 27, 2018 - Industry Racing
By Ryan Evans

Industry Racing - June 27

There have been five events held at Industry Racing this season and Aaron Fox’s victory made it five separate winners on Salute to Military Night.

Dillon Ruml entered the Scratch Main Event with a perfect score and was starting in gate one. Fox started in gate four and left everyone at the starting line when the tapes went up. Ruml chased after the former Edinburgh Monarch with Tim Gomez and Russell Green in tow. Fox was riding on rails though and Ruml had nothing for him. The lightning start and error-free four laps led to a comfortable victory for Fox. Ruml finished second, Gomez was third, and Green finished fourth.

Green kicked off the evening with a victory ahead of Gomez. Ruml defeated Mike “Spiderman” Bloom in event two. Fox ended the first round with a victory over Ramirez who passed Blake Borello in the final corner for the win.

61 year old former World Pairs Champion Bobby “Boogaloo” Schwartz began the second round with an impressive win over Fox. Ruml beat Borello for his second victory. Gomez held off Ramirez to finish round two with a win.

Gomez started the final round with a victory ahead of Schwartz. Green scored his second win by defeating Ramirez. Fox and Ruml raced handlebar-to-handlebar for three laps before the latter surged ahead for his third consecutive win.

Ruml remained perfect by winning the first semi with Green getting second to join him in the main. Fox stormed to victory in the second semi with Gomez also transferring to the main.

Schwartz gave the fans a thrill by winning the Scratch Consolation. Borello finished second, Ramirez was third, and Bloom finished fourth.

Rudy Laurer led all four laps en route to victory in the Second Division Main Event. Bruce Marteney was second, Mike Miller finished third, and Ron Davis was fourth.

David Newsham made quick work of Greg Willis and raced away with his second straight Third Division Main Event victory. Kevin Fife finished second, Steve Brown was third, and Willis finished fourth.

“Gentleman” Jake Isaac trapped from gate four and never looked back on his way to top honors in the Junior 250 Main Event. Slater Lightcap was second and Andrew Russell finished third.

Gordon Teuber III led from start to finish and went home with the Mini 150 Main Event victory. Travis Horn was second, Owen Williams finished third, Levi Leutz was fourth, and Jose Navarrete finished fifth.

The Pee Wees returned to the program after several weeks and it was Ken Matsudaira who claimed victory in both heats and the Pee Wee Main Event. Noah Luke finished second and Jenson Horn was third.
